Only 18 Presidents have had the opportunity to nominate a Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. With the passing of William Rehnquist, and the Presidents appointment of John Roberts to the highest post in the highest court, the confirmation hearings of take on an entirely new perspective.

What annoyed me today was some snotrag from Mcfly saying in Heat that he preferred the new Charlie and The Choclate Factory'because you can't see the strings when they fly'. What a tit. If you 're going to prefer the new one, prefer it for valid reasons. Saying that is like saying you prefer the new version of Psycho because it's in colour and they don't just move the film to make it look like he falls down the stairs. Or you prefer The Ring to Ringu'cause you don't have to bother with the subtitles. I HATE people who assume that better special effects = better movie. It doesn't work-look at Fantastic Four and Monty Python and The Holy Grail. I know which one I'd rather watch. * calms down *

You damn rock star. You know all the basics, and if you got any wrong, I bet it was that stupid Traveling Wilburys question. Your friends are probably intimidated by your knowledge of classic rockand envy your impressive collection. When a classic rock song comes onthe radio, you can probably identify it before the vocals kick in mostof the time. You probably get good scores on the "maiden name ofclapton's mom" tests, too.

- We knew the Emmys would suck, but we didn't realize they would involve the kind of sucking that makes Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars) sing "Fame," Macy Gray and Gary Dourdan (CSI) sing the theme from the Jeffersons, Megan Mulally (Will & Grace) and Donald Trump (The Hairpiece From Another Planet) sing the theme from Green Acres, and William Shatner and an opera singer sing the Star Trek theme

I always update far too much on my days off. But I was reading this from IMDB about the upcoming movie'The Da Vinci Code'. It is filming now, but there seems to be a lot of discussion about Tom Hanks in the lead role of Robert Langdon. At first, after being a reader of all the Dan Brown books, I was unsure. He wasn't the sort of actor I would have picked, but he's now growing on me. I saw him in'The Terminal'the other day and his charisma has slowly won me over. No doubt, the film will do well no matter who they cast in this role, so I was wondering why they went with a blockbuster star like Hanks. I was just wondering other peoples opinions on this. Is Tom Hanks the right choice for the role of Robert Langdon? If not, who would you have cast?

I thought this was a funny article.'The ever colorful Steve Ballmer is never at a loss for words. It appears that Google is the target of his latest frustrations: After learning Lucovsky was leaving to take a job at Google, Ballmer picked up his chair and hurled it across his office, according to the declaration. Ballmer then pejoratively berated Google CEO Eric Schmidt, Lucovsky recalled. "I'm going to f --- ing bury that guy, I have done it before, and I will do it again," the declaration quotes Ballmer. "I'm going to f --- ing kill Google."'http: // www.anandtech.com/news/shownews.aspx? i = 24840

Before eating, we watched a bit of the US Open. Watched Andre Agassi beat Xavier Malisse of Belgium, 6-3, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 4-6, 6-2. Then after that match, American James Blake took on Spain ’ s Tommy Robredo. We got through the first set and it looked like Blake ’ s surprise run was going to end. But we didn ’ t make it through to see him come back winning, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2, 6-3.

I've been really depressed or something lately. I can't find any energy. I've lost any desire to stay on my healthy diet or do anything. I have been sleeping for long periods of time and am still waking tired. I tried to study. I even went into the office today. It's just been miserable. The only thing I've been able to do is watch some movies. First time for that in a long time. I saw Sin City twice, Kill Bill for my first time (love the music and everything about it, actually), and Resident Evil: Apocalypse (disappointing, but I was expecting as much, really). Sin City was fantastic. "Shut up, Jackie-boy. You 're dead." I really must say I loved the whole cast, particularly Clive Owen (yum!), Mickey Rourke, and Bruce Willis. I'll never be able to look at Frodo in the same way.

I watched two really awesome movies on TCM today: Funny Face, with Audrey Hepburn, Kay Thompson, and Fred Astaire, and Singin'in the Rain, wich Gene Kelly, Debbir Reynolds, and Donold O'conner. It was actually the first time I'd seen a Gene Kelly movie. He was ok, but I love Fred Astaire so much more. Astaire just has a certain charisma that Kelly can't hold a candle too. I think he was a bit of a jerk too. I would also like it to be said that Audrey Hepburn does not have a funny face. She is in fact drop-dead gorgeous. Silly casting peoples.

I felt the same way after hearing Aaron Neville sing "Louisiana, 1927" the other night. As ballsy as it was to sing a song who's main lyric is "They 're trying to wash us away," it was equally as impressive that Randy Newman's song, which now seems so prescient, existed in the first place.
