There is a nice article on Micropower up at the BBC site. Watched Bound on DVD. It is an odd suspense movie by the Wachowski brothers. It has some really excellent camera work and a good "caper gone wrong" plot with a touch of lesbian romance. My grade: B-laura and I went to see the Corpse Bride today. One of Tim Burton's best, a creepy fairy tale with superb music by Danny Elfman. Christopher Lee does one of the voices and I was reminded that he is the man who speaks in ALL CAPS. All around good. My Grade: Asince I have not yet found any more paying game writing gigs, I am have taken up a staff reviewer position (unpaid) at Rpgnow.

I just saw footage on CNN of anti-war activist, Cindy Sheehan, being led away in handcuffs. Did she ever get that meeting with President Bush? Seems like it would have been a whole lot easier for Bush to meet with her for a few minutes than the continued major news exposure this woman keeps receiving. Instead, it seems the President stood his ground and not even a White House aide would come speak to the anti-war protesters. Congrats to the Commander-in-chief for showing how easy it is for him to ignore a mother who lost her son.

Today was a pretty long day, I woke up around 7: 45, left the house at 8: 30, arrived at work at 9: 15. I had to work Headquaters, which means I have to stay until about 30-45 min until the game is over. But it's my favorite place to work, and it gets me the maximum amount of hours possible. After the game... err... rather... another ass kicking .... I headed over to Sam's. Sam treated us to Mexican and then we headed back for Simpsons, Family Guy, and American Dad. That new show "War At Home" is really dumb and I hope it doesn't last long.

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe. 13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.20 -29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences. 30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more! 40 +: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

SPREAD THE LOVE! (optional linkage for to-day): 1) Clive Owen - In Style Magazine October 2005 - He takes his kids to see Buster Keaton movies! How great a dad is that?: D The man is wonderful. * _ * 2) From the pages of the Final _ Fantasy _ 6 communuty... - Some talk about FF6, including the why's and why not's on a movie like Advent Children. (You know, even though Final Fantasy Collection gave me what I wished for most, FF6 Fmvs, I wouldn't mind a REAL remake of the game with FFX/FFXII graphics. Along with two words I don't think I really need to utter: "better translation". I think that's implied.; P)

Wow, I think Willy Wonka is hot! Okay, so consider this... Dating a hot guy who has an effin'chocolate factory?! I'd be eating chocolate all day! Plus if I married him, I'd get to keep the initials WW. But then again we'd get our monograms mixed up. Ha! I like Johnny Depp as the infamous WW is a lot better than Gene Wilder. He makes the chocolate man look like a sexy beast.

Remember back a few months ago when The Beggars played the Belmont for a taping for the show "Wife Swap"? Well that episode will be shown tonight on ABC at 8 pm. Check it out and maybe you'll see yourself on tv. After the show stay tuned to ABC for MNF and root for my fantasy football running back Priest Holmes. Also the new Bob Dylan doc done by Martin Scorsese is on PBS tonight, as if Prison Break. So many choices.

We asked last week when we could expect Klobuchar ’ s position on Chief Justice nominee John Roberts. Within 2 hours, her campaign responded. Feeling the pressure from the looming Ciresi candidacy on her left, the Hennepin County Attorney chose the most extreme elements of her party over the mainstream.

The show tonight was FANTASSSTIC. For once the opening acts did nt suck. M Ward was really bluesy/westerny and The Shins... well, they were The Shins! The White Stripes definitely put on the best live show I've ever seen. Meg White can only play the same beat over and over but Jack White is such a great guitarist and has such a crazy voice that... ah soooo good! AND I FINISHED ALL MY WORK! BOO-YAH!

"Floating Island" is a mini version of Central Park being towed around Manhattan by a tugboat (photos here)... it's a conceptual art piece by Robert Smithson. This weekend, a group of folks in a motorboat tried to board the floating park and install a miniature version of Christo and Jeanne-claude's The Gates. When the captain of the boat towing the island "looked out across the East River Thursday afternoon and saw another piece of conceptual art gaining on him, he did not view the development kindly".

Michael Isikoff explains how the arrest of David Safavian for lying to investigators is only the first salvo into untangling the $100,000 golf trip to St. Andrews arranged by fallen lobbyist - and Tom Delay crony - Jack Abramoff. The next target is probably Ohio Republican congressman Bob Ney who may have lied on his disclosure statements and should not have been on the trip in the first place:

. Now, this movie looked completely cheesy in the previews, but Napoleon Dynamite was in it, so I knew there had to be some good moments. I heard from two co-workers at Barnes and Noble how great and amazing the ending was and how I would never expect it, so my interest was piqued. I was surprised it didn't take much convincing to get Sean to come along... afterall, Napoleon was in it. However, the movie was pretty lame. Sean guessed the ending... so it was cheesy and predictable after all. I do like Mark Ruffalo though. Reese Witherspoon was typical Reese Witherspoon, which can get annoying in large doses. After we left the movie, Sean noticed that

So I started by reading Frankenstein, Book One: The Prodigal Son. I won ’ t ruin the plotline for anyone that is inclined to give it a read, but I won ’ t be giving anything away by relating that Koontz does a good job of making the story believable. He integrates references to Mary Shelley ’ s version of the Frankenstein legends as well as references to currently popular books and TV shows (The Da Vinci Code by the afore-mentioned deplorable hack Dan Brown and ABC ’ s black comedy Desperate Housewives). Such references will make the books seem a little dated in a few years and it is for this reason that many writers avoid such things (I think), but it makes the plot-line more relevant and believable.

Word in legal circles is that Priscilla Owen is set to become the next justice appointed to the United States Supreme Court. Unfortunately, I have received reliable information late this afternoon that Karl Rove, among others, is making a last minute push for the President to consider Alberto Gonzales, despite previous assurances from inside the White House, Justice Department, and Senate that Gonzales was not being considered.

Sora Song writes: Sometime poet, indie publisher, photographer, painter, musician and Lord of the Rings king Viggo Mortensen plays a family man in A History of Violence:'I read that your co-star Maria Bello said her first reaction after watching the film was, "I thought I was going to vomit." What was your reaction?'Viggo:'Umm... I didn't feel like puking. I was very happy, to be honest. I guess I was sort of drained, but the main thing I felt was happy.
