We had the best time! I got into Chicago about 12: 30 Friday, and D set about cooking Thanksgiving dinner for all of us. I have to say she is an absolutely amazing cook! We had turkey (despite the fact that D is vegetarian she cooked a turkey for us, and it was really really good), mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoes (candied and baked), green bean cassarole, scalloped corn, cheese biscuits, and for dessert pumpkin cheesecake and apple pie! Uh, yeah, it was absolutely fabulous. After dinner we tried to go see Echo and the Bunnymen, but it was sold out. We ended up just going out and hanging out, then back at D ’ s for drinks and laughter.

Well I ended up doing my floor time yesterday.. Of course there was no calls. Went to jason's parents afterwards and had like the best dinner of fried chicken wings.. Mmm they were so good you have no idea.. I had like 5! lol. Then we watched Charlie and the Chocolate factory and I really liked it.. Only thing I didn't like is they didn't have the bubble scene with Charlie and his grandpa.. But I think that they ended it a LOT better then the original, and Johnny Depp is fabulous! lol. Today I have been doing laundry, dishes, cleaning and taking down thanksgiving decorations. Next weekend we will be getting our Christmas tree. Yah

http: // www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/11/28/congressman.shouse.ap/index.html House Ethics rules say that any lawmaker convicted of a felony no longer should vote or participate in committee work. Under Republican caucus rules, Cunningham also would have lost his chairmanship of the House Intelligence subcommittee on terrorism and human intelligence. "He did the worst thing an elected official can do -- he enriched himself through his position and violated the trust of those who put him there," U.S. Attorney Carol Lam said. The statement did not identify the conspirators. ----------------------------- Amen.you play you pay. goodbye ass.keep investigating, i want all these guys and gals found and in jail. Joseph your humble libertarian more and more every day.

Tom Cruise has given Katie Holmes the gift that keeps on giving. No, I'm not referring to "his" seed, but to the brand new sonogram machine he recently purchased for his pregnant fiancee. The 43-year-old actor said the couple will do their own sonograms, which show fetus development with ultrasound waves. Question: Could they get any weirder??? Pammyland has exclusively learned that this particular sonagram device was altered by Scientology medical staffers to zap evil thetan mindwaves in the growing fetus. The L. Ron Hubbard-approved machine will be donated to a local hospital after the birth so that others can share in the magic of a thetan-free birth. [Just kidding, y'all!]

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions announced The Sex Pistols. One marginal record, a few great songs... I guess their influence got them in. Will John, Glen and Stu do a group hug? Will they let Malcolm show up? Will there be cussing? Miles Davis was a great musician. Yes. Rock and Roll musician? Yeah yeah fusion and all. I don't know. Black Sabbath, Blondie and Lynyrd Skynyrd got in as well. I'm still boycotting until Ronnie Spector is inducted.

As reported in Boingboing, a city in Bosnia has erected a statue of Bruce Lee as a symbol of peace - apparently, he was equally popular in all religous and etnical groups. As quoted by Boingboing from the BBC article, "We will always be Muslims, Serbs or Croats," said Veselin Gatalo of the youth group Urban Movement Mostar. "But one thing we all have in common is Bruce Lee." Fandom as a force for peace. Martial arts fandom as a force for peace. Bruce Lee fandom as a force for peace. My heart, it sings with joy.

You scored as Ginny Weasley. You definitely share your mother's (Molly Weasley) fiery resolve and slowly but surely people are learning to respect you because of it.

the expanding probe of Jack Abramoff (tied to Tom Delay in a bunch of ways), which dipped into investigating four similarly implicated Republican Congressmen, prompted one such motherfucker, "Duke" Cunningham (R-CA) to resign. Also, one of That Porcine Shithead Rove's flunkies, says Raw Story, gives a testimony which just might solidify Fuck-you-karl's role in the Plame Leak affair, and allow justice to be dolled out by Special Prosecutor Pat-o Fitzgerald.

Another stupid move on one of Paris Hilton's pals part. Kimberly Stewart (daughter of equally untalented Rod Stewart) was engaged to Laguna Beach star, Talan Torriero. After about a week's engagement the two have decided to end it. Now didn't Stewart's best friend just end her engagement to Greek heir Paris Latsis a few months ago? Ahh.. the cycle repeats itself. Two spoiled, immature brats decide to accept the proposal and go for it, only to get cold feet later on down the line.

THERE ARE FEW more perplexing phenomena than the workings of the modern liberal mind. Take one growing sub-species, the animal rights obsessive. It is almost impossible to understand the thought processes of those who consider the rights of animals to be more important than those of human beings. The latest outburst from Sir Paul Mccartney is typical.

P.S. - I saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for the 2nd time, yesterday... and I actually kinda cried... the first time I saw it, tears kinda welled up in my eyes... but this time it was enough for a tear to roll down my cheek...: - (And it's funny because when I saw the pictures of Cedric, I didn't think ghe was cute and didn't like him... but he grew on me and when I saw him in the movie I realized that he is actually quite pretty .... lol .... P.P.S. - Are Alice, my mom, and I the only people who thought that Barty Crouch Jr. (David Tennant) is really cute? (Especially in the scene in the courtroom... * giggles *)

Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve and Syriana: what do they have in common? George Clooney and Matt Damon. Obviously the two are buddies, but you don't see Matt's other pal Ben Affleck showing up in his movies any more, do you? Why, there must be something really special about Clooney to have young Matt so keen on working with the guy. It turns out that there is indeed a very good reason (ladies, cover your eyes because depending on your tastes, this might not be pretty): according to Damon himself, "George grabs my ass every day. At least once a day. That's why I've done three movies with him." Aw, how sweet. Plus, you can't be ass-grabbing for movie publicity - look out, Harry Potter, here comes Syriana.

Cunningham's pleas came amid a series of GOP scandals. Rep. Tom Delay of Texas had to step down as majority leader after he was indicted in a campaign finance case; a stock sale by Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is being looked at by regulators; and Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff was indicted in the CIA leak case.

The case began when authorities started investigating whether Cunningham and his wife, Nancy, used the proceeds from the $1,675,000 sale to defense contractor Mitchell Wade to buy a $2.55 million mansion in ritzy Rancho Santa Fe. Wade put the Del Mar house back on the market and sold it after nearly a year for $975,000 — a loss of $700,000.
