its official. i really honestly believe im destined to be single for the rest of my time in sb... or at least. until i get a CAR. or enough money to travel around the world whenever indefinitely. OR ENOUGH TIME for a relationship. let me put it that way.i do nt know if its coincidence, or if its just fate (or my subconscious, for that matter) toying with me, but in the last 10 months, EVERY SINGLE GUY i ve come into contact with who i ACTUALLY connect with, and can see myself eventually being with for a very long time, ends up being someone i ca nt feasibly have due to long distance ..... but then again .... theres always playtime.weeeeeeeeeeee.this morning i had the strongest urge to watch adams family while eating my pancakes.

The buyout will make Steve Jobs, the company's chief executive, around $3.5 billion and the single largest shareholder in Disney. Jobs, who co-founded Pixar in 1986, is also the chief executive of Apple Computer, Inc.

You are at medium risk for being a psychopath. It is somewhat likely that you have no soul. You are at medium risk for having a borderline personality. It is somewhat likely that you are a chaotic mess. You are at high risk for having a narcissistic personality. It is very likely that you are in love with your own reflection. You are at high risk for having a social phobia. It is very likely that you feel most comfortable in your mom's basement. You are at low risk for obsessive compulsive disorder. It is unlikely that you are addicted to hand sanitizer.

The Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on SCOTUS nominee Samuel Alito are again underway and California's Senator Dianne Feinstein is presently rationalizing her Pavolvian "Nay" vote on Alito. She's such a pompous ass. The Golden State, long since tarnished by the impact of liberal democrats and the Gray Davis era, deserves her, as it does Barbara Boxer.

I was browsing the Bloc Quebecois website this morning in class, and found out that Gilles Duceppe does indeed have "un blogue". I didn't have the patience to try to read through his most recent entry, but when I got to the comments I struck gold. The very first comment said: Stéphane, how I love you so for leaving that comment. [WTF? If you go to Blocquebecois.com, it's actually the website of the Marijuana Party of Canada.] Anyway, you may not be Canadian, but you can still go to the polls because I bring you The Great Canadian Election Poll 2006: Please to be enjoying the election responsibly, my friends. :)

business on that stage. Rock is like an early American Idol try-out who doesn't have any friends to tell him he can't sing so he should run away before the odious Simon Cowell crushes what's left of his dignity with a walnut cracker.

I saw King Kong with my dad last night and if you enjoy movies where everyone and everything in the movie is constently unmercilessly pwn3d one million times over 2006, then this is for you. Of course, if you like intelligent stories and good directing along with it then you 're screwed. Peter Jackson sucks a dick at directing. But I must say, there's nothing more br00tal or cr00shal than a giant gorrilla beating the fuck out of dinosaurs. Seriously.

What Bushco wants, according to the fine print (Sec. 605) of the new PATRIOT Act, is a permanent Praetorian Guard, or Cheka, or Gestapo. It's all too easy to come up with apt historical analogies -- but not with any from this nation's history. "A permanent police force, to be known as the'United States Secret Service Uniformed Division,'" empowered to "make arrests without warrant for any offense against the United States committed in their presence" (what is "an offense against the United States?)," or for any felony cognizable under the laws of the United States if they have reasonable grounds to believe that the person to be arrested has committed or is committing such felony "(what are" reasonable grounds "?). full details here

last night. Considering how hot I am for both Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger, and how much I've been anticipating it since it was first announced, I'm amazed it's taken me an entire month to get around to seeing it. It is a truly terrific movie, though it is heartbreaking. That shouldn't really come as a surprise, though. It does make me glad I was born in 1977 and not 1947. Hopefully, the mainstream success of this will lead to other high-profile gay movies with big stars... maybe even one with a happy ending. :)

1. Go to the NME website and vote for their music/TV awards. I voted for Pete Doherty in three categories, notably "Best Hero", "Best Villain", and "Worst Dressed". I also voted for Franz Ferdinand/Alex Kapranos wherever mentioned and for "Little Britain" as best TV show (because it's the only one I've seen) and Brixton Academy as best venue (because it's the only one I've been to). Anyway, in order to do this voting, I had to join NME's website membership thingy.

"This is the saddest moment in current existance. Poor Canada. Poor women's rights movement, poor labour movement, poor same-sex rights movement, poor health care, poor environment, poor aboriginals, poor families without young children (because those are the only ones who get the tax cuts) poor fair trade, poor world. Did 87% of us seriously get that blind-sided by someone taking money and getting caught, that we 're ok with electing a party that can ALL too easily steal everything else we hold dear? I pray they don't fuck everyone over.. I pray that another Mike Harris or Brian Mulroney doesn't come out of the depths of Stephen Harper." (Well said, Rach.)

Did I just witness Canada going down the shitter??? "Conservative Leader Stephen Harper will become Canada's next prime minister, as Canadians have elected a Tory minority government and ended a 12-year reign of Liberal rule" Yeah, I guess I did.

SIENNA MILLER and JUDE LAW: London's Mirror claims Law is moving back in with his ex-wife Sadie Frost. E! gossip Ted Casablanca claims Miller dumped Law for her Factory Girl co-star Hayden Christensen: "It's all about opportunity," said a source. "She's just moving o n to who's going to give her more publicity. Jude can't do that anymore." RELATED: Lou Reed, who knew Edie Sedgwick and Andy Warhol (obvs.) has an opinion o n Factory Girl director George Hickenlooper and his cast: "They 're all a bunch of whores." So Reed couldn't stop Hickenlooper from licensing his song? PLUS: Just Jared has Factory Girl photos, including Guy Pearce as Andy Warhol and the horror of Hayden Christensen as a fictionalized Bob Dylan.

We had a snow day today! I got to miss Health and Fitness, Logic, and Appreciation of the American Musical. After dinner I built a snowman with Susan and Geraldo. It made up for the last time it snowed, when it was too fluffy to make one. He's sitting on a bench in front of Conlon -- so hopefully I'll see him when I go to class tomorrow morning. He's smoking a cigarette, drinking a cup of cocoa, and wearing a party hat.

11: 22 - Still the same idea. Tories + NDP went under 50% for a bit. But now they ’ re almost there again. It ’ s going to be a wild Parliament no matter what. The guy I voted for won his seat. Oh, it went under again. Oh, back up. What a seesaw. Pierre Pettigrew and Anne Mclellan lost their seats, by the way.

Vancouver-centre (BC) -- Ndper Svend Robinson lost to Liberal Hedy Fry. That disappoints me, because I really, really thought Svend could do it. Unfortunately, Hedy has some crazy kind of hold on that community, and for better or worse she's back in Parliament. Ottawa-centre (ON) -- Ndper Paul Dewar beat Lib Richard Mahoney and Con Keith Fountain! The NDP hung on to Ed Broadbent's seat by a fair enough margin, and I think that's awesome despite my tendencies to the Libs, because Mahoney seemed smarmy. Yeah. I'm... very superficial.

The good news is that Dick Marty, who is heading the European investigation into claims of secret CIA prisons in Europe, has announced that the commission has found no evidence for secret CIA prisons in Romania or Poland, as was alleged by Human Rights Watch. The bad news is that Marty also said that “ There is a great deal of coherent, convergent evidence pointing to the existence of a system of ’ relocation ’ or ’ outsourcing ’ of torture, ” and that European governments likely knew that the US was using "extraordinary rendition" in its dealings with suspected terrorists in order to permit their torture. He places the number of such cases at over 100.

"The Pink Panther" (February 10): If there's an actor alive who maybe, possibly could resurrect Peter Sellers'Inspector Clouseau without bumbling his way to oblivion, it has to be Steve Martin. Martin stars as the idiot savant French detective in a crime caper co-starring the actor's old pal Kevin Kline as Clouseau's long-suffering boss, along with Beyonce Knowles and Jean Reno.

Ok, this is totally random, but on Sunday we were practicing Wing Chun at the Oakland school and this guy knocks on the door. He comes in and is very nice and introduces himself to Jasan. His name is Chiu Chi Ling and he mentions that Leung Ting is coming to the bay area soon and drops off a card. Cool, cool. Then he takes off pretty quickly. We start looking at his card and it turns out that not only is he this huge Hung Gar master, but he's also friends with Jackie Chan, Chow Yun Fat, Jet Li, and all these other guys. Plus, he was in Kung Fu Hustle! Sometimes really weird, cool things happen.
