having just read cindy sheehan's diary entry on the dailykos, i'm... speechless, but not surprised. I turned to the right to take my left arm out, when the same officer saw my shirt and yelled; "Protester." He then ran over to me, hauled me out of my seat and roughly (with my hands behind my back) shoved me up the stairs.

I like purple. Maybe it is my favorite color. I have a favorite movie. I would like to watch it with you some day. If I brought the DVD to work, could we watch it on a computer during lunch? It would probably take a few days, but I would really like to watch a movie with you. Its really a funny movie. I love it. I have been thinking of asking you for a while now. But I am afraid you will say no. I think it is a good movie. Friends watch movies together, don't they? It is a romantic comedy, but I don't consider it a chick flick. I really, really want you to say yes.

Reports are coming in that Cindy Sheehan was arrested at the House Gallery just before Bush's State of the Union address. She wasn't a gate crasher, she was there as an invited guest of Rep. Lynn Woolsey. They say she was arrested for "causing a disturbance." There's no other information, but I'm going to say that despite her being a little bit crazy, the odds are that she was "causing a disturbance" because she was recognized and Bush's people attempted to throw her out. I certainly know that if I were invited somewhere and then they tried to throw me out just because of who I was, I'd cause a disturbance also. "Of course you have to question the sanity of Rep. Woolsey for inviting her in the first place.

The Jim Henson Co. has set animated series creator Genndy Tartakovsky ("Samurai Jack", "Star Wars: The Clones Wars") to direct "Power of the Dark Crystal," sequel to 1982 fantasy film "The Dark Crystal" reports Variety. Tartakovsky's Orphanage Animation Studios will take the lead on the CG animation elements for the puppet-driven film. Brian Froud has returned to design the new characters. Set hundreds of years after the first pic, sequel follows a mysterious girl made of fire who steals a shard of the crystal in hopes of reigniting the dying sun. Annette Duffy and David Odell penned the script. The puppets this time around will operate amid a CGI backdrop. Henson will secure a domestic distributor by the time the film begins production in late summer. - Variety

As for the coulda-shoulda-woulda categories that make the Armchair Oscars a national sport, the best list right now comes in the leading actor category. You can make a second five nominations out of these, and barely call it a “ B ” list: Ralph Fiennes in “ The Constant Gardener, ” Cillian Murphy in “ Breakfast on Pluto, ” Jeff Daniels in “ The Squid and the Whale, ” Russell Crowe in “ Cinderella Man, ” Eric Bana in “ Munich, ” Viggo Mortensen in “ A History of Violence. ” You could even move up Jake Gyllenhaal from supporting actor in “ Brokeback. ” A good year for men, cowboys or no.

Yeah, I just... I mean, I'd just rather read Anna Karenina. I'm not feeling so bad or so great that I need to emote all over the place and things are going to keep working out just as they 're meant to. Besides, russian literature's never been so fast-paced and enjoyable. I believe my valentine this year may be Leo Tolstoy, which is a damn sight better than last year, when it was a bottle of Pepto Bismol and a stack of critiques.

They can be real life celebrities or characters in a movie or TV show. For example, you might want to gag Mariska Hargitay, while still lusting after Butchy Mcfabulous Olivia Benson. Is it just my eyes deceiving me, or did my good friend use a picture of Severus Snape (Alan Rickman) to represent Trent Reznor in Teodor's Photoshop Phriday? Mr. Pooka (Scary go Round) made me laugh, and the events of Somethingpositive.net made me sad. Vanilla Creme Frosted Mini-wheats are fucking scrumdidliumptous! You scowl and say I'll never have you; I laugh because I wouldn't want to. -]]

Coretta Scott King passed away today. She was an active and influential civil rights supporter, and she will be dearly missed. Ironically, Samuel Alito was confirmed today as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. His decisions, while they seem rational at first glance, have a decided lean towards the denial of civil liberties. I ’ m upset. This Bush character has put way too many people on the bench for my taste. Today is a dark day indeed for civil rights. That ’ s why it ’ s more important than ever to be socially and politically active. Nobody is going to affect any change by hibernating until the next election. There ’ s work to be done
