Arenal Volcano hotel - http: // www.arenalvolcano.com Take a day trip to Arenal to see one of Costa Rica's greatest wonders and one of the few viewable active volcanoes on the planet. If you didn't have time to stay a few nights in Arenal during your vacation, this is MUST!

... preferably when court is in session. Seems Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was in Cape Town, South Africa last month giving a speech titled, "A Decent Respect for the Opinions of [Human] Kind. Too bad she apparently does not have a decent respect for the Constitution she was sworn to uphold.

Today, Condoleezza Rice called Iran "the central banker of terrorism." Tomorrow, Stephen Hadley will give a speech and release a revised 49-page National Security Strategy, reaffirming the doctrine of preemptive war.

JESSICA SIMPSON, ETHICS CZAR. Republicans, of course, haven't in the past seen the harm in mixing tax-exempt charity work with partisan fundraising, so it's both hilarious and unsurprising to see them so irate at Jessica Simpson for declining to taint the nonpartisan image of the charity she supports by showing up at an NRCC dinner: It's true that a savvier and more dedicated lobbyist for Operation Smile might not blanche at showing up at a fundraiser to get some face time with key pols, but does that really warrant heaping such scorn on poor Jessica? Also, has Bono really shown up at a lot of party fundraisers before?

Apparently lots of people think it did. I obviously didn't watch it. Did you? What did you think? Was it pathetic? The whole "flying tram" thing seems lame to me. But I hate opening ceremonies. My idea of the proper Commonwealth Games opening ceremony would be to see a bunch of white people invading a country, killing off the indigenous population, and then their rich, fat descendants pretending it never happened while they spend hundreds of millions of dollars on getting people to run around in circles and throw spears while tens of thousands of kids are homeless. That's my Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. Who's coming?

From the sunny beaches of the west coast of florida to the shores of Miami Beach, you just can't beat a relaxing time on the beach. You can find some great deals on Florida vacation getaways. Condos are a great value because they give you more room as well as a fully functioning kitchen. This helps to save you money because you don't have to go out to eat, you can cook easy meals in the condo and use your money for more expensive things, like a ski boat rental, or scuba lessons. Wisconsin Senator (D) Russ Feingold accused his fellow democrats of cowering. "I'm amazed at Democrats... cowering with this president's numbers so low," said Feingold. He introduced legislation that would censure President Bush for "unlawful authorization of wiretaps of Americans within the United States without obtaining the court orders required" by the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. There has been no support for it.

They said it was the most boring Oscars ever, but there ’ s still plenty of talk about Crash winning the Best Picture award. This week Annie Proulx, author of the original Brokeback Mountain short story, wrote a scathing editorial about the loss in The Guardian.

Thanks to reader Jake for pointing out Isaac Hayes did quit Southpark. "South Park" co-creator Matt Stone responded sharply in an interview with The Associated Press Monday, saying, "This is 100 percent having to do with his faith of Scientology... He has no problem — and he's cashed plenty of checks — with our show making fun of Christians." Source: Fox News - Isaac Hayes Quits'South Park'Thanks Jake!

Republicans who have increased our national debt with their deficit spending by 50% to date, are going to vote to raise the debt limit ceiling another $781 Billion Dollars. Some, if not many, Democrats are going to vote right along with them. 781 Billion dollars. Big number: but, most folks don't appreciate how big.

The FCC ruled that numerous shows violated federal regulations and in several instances the agency proposed fines against station affiliates of CBS Corp, a Washington station that airs Time Warner Inc.'s WB network, and NBC's Telemundo station in Los Angeles. The agency also upheld its decision to fine 20 CBS stations $550,000 for a stunt in which pop singer Janet Jackson exposed her breast during the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show.

Blog Fraud?: (hat tip: Ace) Arianna Huffington's Huffingtonpost blog is apparently publishing compilations of comments by celebrity'writers'as opposed to the actual writing of those celebrites. The fraud is that these compilations are not being presented that way. The one who spilled the beans is George Clooney, seemingly miffed at Huffington for the way a recent post was manufactured. I'll make it simple for you Arianna, so you can, you know, understand it. If the author actually does author the post, fine. If not, it ain't his or hers, so don't attribute it that way. How many other fraudulent entries have shown up in your blog collective?

I, for one, am glad that there is continuing development for instant messaging clients on the Windows Mobile platform, especially now that America Online has released an open SDK for their AIM service. Why AOL has never bothered to update their own AIM client for Pocket PC is beyond anyone's guess. Our choices have been rather slim, such as the buggy Shape Services IM + at a whopping $40, Verichat with a $25 to $40 annual subscription, and imov Messenger (free Personal Version and a $20 Enterprise Version). Functionally and visually, Agile Messenger is the best of the pack (and right now, it's free), so please help be a part of the bug reporting team so they can get this out the door soon.

You know, we 're going to pass. As nice and toasty as Uggs are, we'd much rather read Roll Call. That doesn't say anything bad about our physical appearance. Seriously -- even though Jessica Simpson is getting the heck out, porn star Mary Carey is solidly in the Bush Camp.

Suddenly I might actually like Jessica Simpson. This GOP spokesman doesn't get it: "It's never been a problem for Bono," he said, referring to the U2 rock star who has met regularly with political leaders of all stripes to promote various causes, including Third World debt relief. "I find it hard to believe she would pass up an opportunity to lobby the president on behalf of Operation Smile." She obviously doens't want to be just your party tool. And since when was doing what Bono does not a whorish idea? Dude sold out as soon as he started accepting concessions that the rest of the global poverty advocacy community was not on board with, if not earlier.

According to the authors, Holy Blood, Holy Grail is a non-fiction book, meticulously researched (you, of course, can draw your own conclusions). According to Dan Brown, The Da Vinci Code is fiction. Now, fiction relies upon non-fiction as the basis of research for obvious reasons: relying upon fiction would set a bad precedent.

In the aftermath of the Dubai ports deal, President Bush's approval rating has hit a new low and his image for honesty and effectiveness has been damaged. Bush's personal image has weakened noticeably, which is reflected in people's one-word descriptions of the president. Honesty had been the single trait most closely associated with Bush, but in the current survey "incompetent" is the descriptor used most frequently. Full story...

It is wise to also solicit advice from a therapist or physician before buying a used electric wheelchair. Private health insurance and state vocational rehabilitation centers sometimes cover the cost of used electric wheelchairs. The Technical Assistance Project (TAP), supported by the federal Technology-related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities Act (Tech Act) of 1988, also provides financial support for the purchase of disability equipment. Sometimes, wheelchair vendors also provide guarantees and warranties for used wheelchairs.

In the course of three days as a guest blogger, Lashawn has managed to write scathing posts that bash blacks, gays, Scientologists, people who consider themselves spiritual and people who believe in evolution. Is that what Beliefnet is about? I didn't think so because I've learned so much from this site in the past. I am sorely disappointed because this woman is a black, conservative, Christian with the values of Jerry Falwell (who recently claimed that Jews were going to hell) and Pat Robertson (who recently proclaimed that Muslims were satanists) and is being given a spotlight on what used to be a respectable place for religious and spiritual information.

The producers of the forthcoming movie remake of Dallas are apparently looking to cast John Travolta as J.R. and Jennifer Lopez as Sue Ellen, among others. People seem to be up in arms over the choice of Mr. Travolta, but whatever, I'm just waiting for the 227 movie. [BBC]

JESSICA SIMPSON: While her future ex Nick Lachey is again spotted with Kristin Cavallari of MTV's Laguna Beach, Ted Casablanca from the E! channel is floating a trial balloon that the pneumatic blonde is pregnant. More solid is word that she is skipping a National Republican Congressional Committee fundraiser tonight. She was going to be seated with House Majority Leader John Boehner, who won't have to remind folks that his name is pronounced Bay-ner.

Senator Lincoln Chafee (Rino-rhode Island) my decide to join Russ Feingold (D), Barbara Boxer (D) and Tom Harkin (D) in cosponsoring the censure resolution: Chafee long ago gave up any hope of winning conservative Republican votes in his upcoming primary, but certainly joining the censure resolution would guarantee the loss of all conservatives and likely many moderates. He'd be a hero to the lefties, but they don't vote in the GOP primary.

Circuit Judge Andrew Owens, in the Carlie Brucia case, is my new hero. Every day we hear of judges who allow child molesters to go free or just give them a slap on the wrist. I listened intently yesterday while Judge Owens sentenced Joseph Smith to death for the brutal rape and murder of 11 year old Carlie Brucia. The official sentence, "death for the murder count and life in prison for kidnapping and sexual battery."

- Billboard reports: Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted and former Guns N'Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke have formed a new band, Supernova, and will utilize the CBS reality show "Rock Star" as the vehicle by which to select a lead singer. The show will premiere this summer. Once a singer has been selected, Supernova will hit the studio with producer Butch Walker (Pink, Avril Lavigne) to record an album that will be released in the fall. A world tour will follow in early 2007.

Back on February 15, I flagged Paul Weyrich's article claiming that "if Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is Speaker of the House come next year George W. Bush will be impeached." Matthew Yglesias picked up the post on Tapped, and the impeachment meme started to go mainstream. Yesterday, as I noted, the Wall Street Journal editorial page claimed that a Democratic House majority would be likely to impeach Bush.
