Ahh, not a month goes by that we do nt see another Remake of an older movie in the theaters. In past reviews I ve gone over my disdain for this recent trend but everyonce in a while a remake comes along that completely exceeds my expectations and Peter Jackson ’ s remake of the 1933 classic King Kong was that movie. Jackson had large shoes to fill after his Lord of the Rings Trilogy completed and what better project to tackle then the film that made him want to become a director in the first place.

the best way for me to avoid the immediate reactions on the west wing comms was to come down to the hotel bar. opening night for the white sox is a rain delay, though... WW tonight was one of those episodes where you know they 're going to do something, but you still wish it wasn't going to happen. John Spencer passed in December, but Leo Mcgarry didn't die until tonight. Well, here's to an actor I've enjoyed since his stint on "LA Law," and by far the best character on WW...

Being out of pocket for a few days, unfortunately, I was unable to blog about one of my favorite topics (or as some of you would consider obsessions) - third rate bigot Congresswoman Cynthia Mckinney. As you all know by now, she assaulted a Capitol police officer as she was entering a legislative office building last week. Here is Mckinney's statement in response.

The headline acts for this years Reading & Leeds Festival have been announced: Pearl Jam, Franz Ferdinand and Muse! The rest will be announced at 7: 15pm but Muse alone has guaranteed I'll be slapping my cash down this year. I haven't seen these guys perform live since Showbiz came out.

Man, they cut all the bisexual content, including a hot threesome out of "Basic Instinct 2," apparently... there goes my main reason for wanting to ever see it, since it's supposed to pretty much be crap otherwise.: P Well, that and I still lurve Sharon Stone. That pisses me off... by the way, I can't believe I didn't notice until just now that the initials for it are BI, lol! My latest Myspace profile song is a glorious cover version of an oldie but a goodie - Chantal Kreviazuk doing "Leavin'On A Jet Plane" (for the'Armageddon'soundtrack, of all things). Parfait. I wish I was leavin'on a jet plane... to anywhere...

In an interesting exercise of judicial restraint, the Supreme Court announced this morning that an appeal from Jose Padilla - the American citizen held for more than three years in a Navy brig as an'enemy combatant'before being charged last fall - was now moot considering his current legal status.

In a medium skillet, melt a tablespoon of unsalted butter, being careful that the butter does not brown. Toss in the fiddleheads and saute for about 5 minutes. Turn the heat to medium-high and add another tablespoon of butter and an equal amount of olive oil along with two cloves of minced garlic. Saute for another minute, just to let the garlic brown ever so slightly. Splash in a 2 tablespoons of lemon juice or white wine and swirl the pan to emulsify the sauce.

Lindsay Lohan won an award for "Favorite Actress" in Herpes: Fully Loaded at the Nickelodeon Kids'Choice Awards on Saturday. When she ran up to accept her award she had yet another "wardrobe malfunction," or as I like to call it, "she's either really stupid, or she does this crap on purpose, or both." All of the 8 year olds standing beneath her will likely nominate her for "Favorite Freckled Ass Crack" for next year's awards show. I didn't watch the show, but I assume her acceptance speech went something like, "Thanks, you little bitches! I'd throw my underwear at you, but I'm not wearing any!! LOL at me! Peace out!"

So it is official, Moussaoui is eligible for the death penalty. Now the trial goes onto Phase II where the jury will determine if he will get the death penalty. This does not come as a surprise to me after his own testimony. Up until that point the prosecution looked to have been doing an awful job. Face it, the prosecution really did not prove their case. What proved their case was Zacarias Moussaoui taking the stand and claiming credit for a ton of stuff.

Ron says, and I quote "There's nothing here to hurt you!" soon followed by a thoroughly expected "They 're comin'..." from Hagrid. Duh duh DUH! The only one who can save them now is Sirius Black! And Remus Lupin! And, indirectly, Severus Snape! Can they do it in time for Snape to try and kill his childhood nemesisis (nemesii?)? For Remus to suffer unfortuante effects because of the full moon and nearly kill someone? Will they survive intact so Sirius Black can make a daring escape into roaming, dangerous, escaped murderer at large on Buckbeak, saving both himself and Hagrid's beloved hippogriff?

Could we have a prayer right now that the mainstream media in America shuts their yappity yap about the Da Vinci Code already? I want to stab my ears out when I hear the lines: "Dan Brown -- the best author in the world ever -- recently wrote an interesting book that suggests everything we know might be wrong... the Catholic church is ruining Amurrrica."

Today is the one year anniversary of Pope John Paul II's passing. The years seem to pass quicker as I get older. Seems like yesterday I was at work refreshing the Drudge Report for the latest on him as Lucas worked right across from me. Although I do admire Pope Benedict XVI I still miss JP2 mostly because he was quite an influence in my conversion to the Catholic Church from my Baptist upbringing. He lived the faith and at the end he showed us how to die as well. JP2 we love you!

Yeah so Bstaff came over on Friday night and we were bored as all hell. Angelina Jolie could only do so much for us as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. I mean she's a fox and all, but we were just missing something. So... What's the only store open at 11 o'clock at night? MEIJERS!!! So we basically went to get drinks and find something fun to do. We thought that'd we'd find some random card game for like 10 bucks or somethingie: yugioh, magic, lord of the rings?, etc. But, we found something so much cooler... For all of you DD, Warhammer, and RISK fans. Heroscape is quite the game. Completly random, and lots of fun. BIG Dragons, vikings, grenades, and dudes riding on T-rex's... What's not to like?

Depending on how things go, I ’ ll try for this Sunday (depending on how late awesome face-kicking in Exalted goes). Looking forward to both. So I woke up about.. mm, a half an hour ago. It's about 10 o'clock cali time, and I'm still tired, rofl. But hey, it's the first week of spring break. Which then means staying up late, waking up late, roleplaying all the time I'm on the computer. Or at least attempting to type up replies while shooing my brother and chatting with some totally radical people. I actually might watch a movie or something today, I don't know. Watching Moulin Rouge seems real appealing right now. Cause Ewan Mcgregor can sing. And a guy that can sing is really good in my book. And Nicole Kidman looks absolutely gorgoeus in that movie - totally makes me jealous.

And now, I shower. Baby steps.

Most people know too much about how the media work. Thus, ideologues run big risks of being misunderstood - or exposed - when they try to use public-relations techniques to divert attention from the policies they've advocated and implemented in the world. U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice learned that lesson the hard way when she turned up in Britain late last week as the guest of U.K. Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, her partner and counterpart in Bush's failed Iraq adventure.

The movie was great. Cameo loaded. Lots of songs on the soundtracks. Bruce Willis with a funny hair do/facial hair (they then kill him off). An M: I-2 spoof - Maximum: Extreme 2 starring Jason Gibbons played by Matt Leblanc (Alex's on/off boyfriend in the CA movies). With the premiere/M: E-2 promotional material exactly like the M: I-2 (Mission: Impossible 2) logo etc. They also killed off The Thin Man (Crispin Glover). John Cleese in another Hollywood movie. Played Lucy Liu's dad. Err is Alex half White English ?????? Robert "the T-1000" Patrick was also in the film. Had his Spy Kid's hair do, rather than his later Firewall one. Don't forget the Pink Panther theme being played when those girls dance in that theatre.

Roy Oswalt is being both good and efficient. The Marlins are scoreless, and Oswalt has collected seven strikeouts through seven innings. He's thrown just 82 pitches, 54 for strikes. He may suffer from Roger Clemens syndrome however, as his own offense is scoreless as well.

Barbie: The Musical. My favorite passage: It's all very meta, especially because, as more than a few young fans noted, Ms. Coors's Elina is a ringer for "Legally Blonde 2" Barbie, Mattel's homage to the second Reese Witherspoon comedy about Elle Woods, the squeaky-voiced shopaholic who is a lot smarter than she looks. Which is to say that an actress playing a doll as an actress playing a role looks like a doll made to look like another actress playing another role. I've been lethargic and depressed lately. I decided that what I needed was exercise, so yesterday I rode my bike to Hawthorne and back. It did the trick for a few hours, making me feel more energized. Let's hope that it can make me

Wesley aptly writes that Terri's story generated a torrent of compassion. Hundreds of thousands of people who had never participated before in a major public event engaged untiringly in advocating for the sanctity and equal moral worth of the life of Terri Schiavo. And these many supporters were not, as the mainstream media took great glee in portraying, limited to the Randall Terry brand of religious activist or to orthodox Catholics. To the contrary, notables of the secular and religious left -- Ralph Nader, Jesse Jackson, Nat Hentoff -- joined in solidarity with their usual conservative opponents, such as President George W. Bush, Senator Bill Frist, and Rush Limbaugh, to declare that Terri should live.
