A few weeks ago, I was going to post about what I saw as the Richard Nixon Strawman and the distortions of his presidency that have been used by some to tar the Republican Party over the past few decades. But then I thought better of it because, when I sat down to do it, I was confronted by the fact that my knowledge of him is very superficial and secondhand. I had plenty of thoughts about him, but embarrassingly few facts when I actually looked for them in my mind.

Labor Site Backlash Felt at Polls In Herndonherndon voters yesterday unseated the mayor and two Town Council members who supported a bitterly debated day-labor center for immigrant workers in a contest that emerged as a mini-referendum on the turbulent national issue of illegal immigration. Article Small town election or not, this action is a warning to any and all politicians nationwide who support illegal immigrants by granting them free rides or using taxpayer dollars to continue supporting them. Beware: Your jobs are in our hands.

Still processing pictures from May Day. Here's a taste: Mayfield Morris performs its last Cotswold "Valentine," at approximately 5: 45 a.m. In a couple of days the full gallery will be up. The Regency video shoot went off okay. We have no idea whether they'll use any of our footage or even do a segment on the Maker Faire at all. My housemate and I hover by the television at the start of every Tonight Show. Tuesday, I rested. Yesterday, also some resting, but then errands and cleanup. Today, errands, cleanup, maybe planting, and maybe standing in the SFIFF rush line for A Prairie Home Companion. The Colbert report: I was so wrong about that speech being quashed. It's everywhere now, more than it would have been if the mainstream media writeups hadn't tried to sweep it under the rug.

On the most recent episode of Jon Stewart's The Daily Show (Tuesday May 3rd 2006), host Stewart compares US President George W. Bush to a 3rd level Wizard... And no, the comparison is not flattering in any edition of the D&D rules.:: B::

If my TV picked up Comedy Central from an alternate universe where Al Gore had won the 2000 election, what jokes would Rob Corddry be telling right now?

my grokking braclet from Jr Hi 04 fell off yesterday. Sad moment, but I'm amazed it lasted that long.tomorrow is the AP Exam. Now we get to see if having to deal with Bradley for a whole year is going to pay off. I miss listening to music. I mean, I still do it. But with the volume at the level I've been listening to it at, it's just not the same. I don't know why everyone has been kissing Dan Brown's ass. yeah, so the Da Vinci Code was an interesting read, but it's nowhere near the greatest fucking novel ever. I just wanted to let that be known.

It's a sunny morning in Orange County, California. Jimmy Carter is president of the United States, Mount St. Helens has just erupted, Richard Pryor will be setting himself on fire any day now. The Iranians have taken a number of Americans hostage in Tehran. Lots of people seem to be singing "Tie a Yellow Ribbon," though I'm not quite sure why.

Steve Jobs is my hero. I love anything he does. Especially Apple. That Linux penguin is just a wonna-be Jobs. And don't even get me started on Bill Gates... He's so disgusting, he makes Steve Ballmer look hot. Although I do admire Gates'strategy on making all software proprietary. Contrary to what those Linux hippies will tell you, open source blowze worse than Windows ME LOL !!!!!!! 111! 1!!! one!! one !!!! 111eleven! 1ktxbai ^ _ ^

Goddamn "House" made me cry tonight. Not a lot, just one or two tears, but still! Also, Steve Mcqueen! That had me rather distressed, I must say. Sometimes, when I've been forced into thinking about it because of roommates and their celeb gossip mags and horrible television "news" media, I find myself with only one wish: that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's baby grows up very, very plain. Not ugly, because that's a bit too spiteful even for me, but just completely unremarkable looking in every way. Mostly this is because I am just so damn sick of hearing about it. For serious. Stop it. And gim me a five!

At the moment, I'm listening to a TNT montage of interviews with Kobe Bryant and Raja Bell. Bell, for those who don't know, recently clotheslined Kobe in the midst of a Game 5, in retaliation (he says) for several blows he took to the face from 8. It's pretty funny. You'll just have to trust me.
