Rose and Simon did not get married, and Rose is going to marry Umberto, and it turns out that Simon is the father of Sandy's baby! And Matt's wife, Mary, and Lucy are all pregnant with twins! And Ruthie finally has a boyfriend - cuz that's been a huge boring plotline all along... Anyway, whew... now you can be happy cuz I wo nt ever watch it again.ps - you 're doing a badder job that i am at this livejournal thing, i guess i'm more bored

For the record, I haven't read Dan Brown's book nor do I plan to watch the movie, as I felt the subject matter wasn't that interesting in the first place. Heck, most people reading it today are probably reading it mainly because everyone else is reading it. Sheep. Still, calling The Da Vinci Code the work of the devil? Man o'man... I don't know if I should laugh or... nah, the only appropriate/suitable response is to just laugh.

Considering that just about every aspect of music distribution is expected to move online, this strikes me as quite shortsighted. Apple Corps agrees; the company (owned by the two surviving Beatles as well as Yoko Ono and Harrison's estate) intends to appeal yesterday's decision, despite the olive branch proffered by Steve Jobs after the decision. He said Apple Computer "loves the Beatles" and that "hopefully [they] can work together to get them on the itunes Music Store."

Gingrey's rationale is that his bill would simply extend to handguns the law that currently applies to shotguns and rifles. Yet the reason why federal law treats handguns differently is compelling. Small, easily hidden, and singularly deadly, handguns represent roughly one third of the firearms in circulation, yet they are associated with the vast majority of gun violence and gun crime. In 2004, handguns accounted for 78 percent of firearm homicides. Handguns are also by far the most prevalent weapon used to kill law enforcement officers. Sixty-nine percent of law enforcement officers slain in the line of duty from 1992 through 2002 were killed with handguns.

Warner Brothers offshoot Legendary Pictures has picked up the film rights to adapt the popular fantasy video game franchise and will develop the project with game publisher Blizzard Entertainment, which is owned by Vivendi. While the Warcraft franchise has been around for more than a decade, the most recent iteration, the Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft has transformed the video game industry. Unlike most games, where players pay $50 once and play until they 're done, more than 6 million people around the world pay $14.99 per month to participate in the multiplayer game.

Live Messenger has a cleaner interface than MSN Messenger 7.5, the current non-beta release. Other improvements include integration with MSN video in the bottom of the window, and expansion of the VOIP pre-paid calling feature called Windows Live Call (powered by Verizon) into eight new markets (Austria, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands). You can also make some changes to the Live Messenger template, such as color customization. In addition, they are rolling out offline messaging so, like Yahoo and Skype IM, you can send a message to someone offline and they will receive it when they log in.

The US dollar was down again on Tuesday in an unexpected sell-off that analysts said had no obvious reason behind it. It was expected that there would be few fireworks the day before the Federal Reserve is set to make a decision on interest rates and ahead of a report from the US Treasury that could call China a “ currency manipulator ”. Several theories emerged to explain the sell-off, including a plan by the G7 to let the dollar weaken to ease imbalances and a delayed reaction to a report that Iran is considering setting up a market to trade oil in euros.

If you are a bird that does not fly, having two legs is pretty important. So when a wild kiwi lost one of his legs below the knee to a gin trap, a New Zealand zoo decided to help out this iconic native bird. The zoo decided to see if it could fit a prosthetic leg to the North Island brown kiwi. For help, the zoo turned to its neighbours - the Wellington Artificial Limb Board and the Weta Workshop, makers of special effects for movies such as Lord of the Rings and King Kong. To create a mould of the bird's stump, Gina Acevedo, prosthetic and visual creature effects art director at Weta Workshop, used the same techniques on the kiwi as he would on a film star. [More]

It ’ s an odd patriotic book, most notably in that it never mentions which country it ’ s being patriotic about. The content of the book leaves no doubt which country is being discussed - it ’ s just a short storybook featuring Peanuts characters listing the people they think made “ this country ” great. For example, Linus invokes “ George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, James Polk … … and Daniel Boone, Lewis and Clark, Simon and Garfunkel, Abe Lincoln, George Washington Carver, and … ” (The invocation of Simon and Garfunkel is particularly early; this was a 1972 book, and while the duet had already broken up, I don ’ t think they were ready to be writ into the history books just yet.)

Yusaku Iriki, never a great option, will be out until June with a steroid suspension. With just two Double A starts under his belt, promoting Mike Pelfrey right now could be a tad risky for one of the best pitching prospects in baseball. Their # 4 and # 5 starters who began the year, Victor Zambrano and Brian Bannister, are now on the disabled list; Zambrano, the underachieving right-hander for whom the Mets inexplicably dealt away Scott Kazmir, is gone for the season. At the moment, retreads Darren Oliver and Jose Lima round out the New York rotation; if any of the Big Three also go down -- and they 're 34, 40, and 35 respectively, with injury histories for Pedro and Trachsel -- the Mets will be scrambling.
