This was 2.5 hours of silliness. It was also another movie I enjoyed more than I expected to. There are far too many set-pieces and it leans too heavily on funny stuff from the first movie, but if you just want to giggle for a couple of hours, you could do a lot worse. The special effects are very good. Orlando Bloom, whom I quite like, and do think can act, is completely wooden, which is a shame. Johnny Depp is still great, though I think his Captain Sparrow schtick will be wearing a little thin by the third movie. Keira Knightley doesn't have much to do, but she does it OK, I guess. The movie is quite, quite brainless, but sometimes that's exactly what I want.

We noticed that tia dalma has a locket of sorts, a necklace if ya wan na call it. Heart shaped and very similar to the one that ole davey jones has opened and playing on his organ. to continue the trend.i am at sydne's, post panic! experience number three.am so mad STILL that the hush sound didn't come. fucking border.sydne and laurel are watching "kept". ill. ummm the dresden dolls weren't bad. b.urie singing hit me baby one more time was fabulous, although he looked a little awkward.panic!'s performance was really really good, i liked the theatrics but the intermission garbage with the circus folks and the screaming girls responding to "who is panic!'s biggest fan?" was terrible.i look/smell/feel pretty sexy. as always.

How we regret the server problems in the language section of our brain that keep us from learning Portuguese! We'd love to read Sampaist, but will have to settle for the visual. This week we see "an advertisement from 1974 talking about the inauguration of the subway in São Paulo (also know as SP). The funny thing about this video is that it is totally nonsense. Mountain Creek = no go. Actually that was terrible because I was so afraid of asking my parents for permission and money to go that I never did, and decided to ask them if I could go to the Siren Music Festival in Coney Island today instead. My dad let me go, but he didn't let Franz go. And without Franz I can't get to Coney Island by myself, and I wouldn't go to Siren by myself. So both of the things that could have made this entire month for me were shat. No Mountain Creek: amazing slides, hanging out with fun people, Mountain Creek joy. No Siren: no free Stars concert. I was really motherfucking sad. So sad that my away message last night received an angrily motivating message from a friend.

I listened to Dark Side of the Moon last night all the way through for the first time in my life, and I can't believe I had been living so long without ever hearing it (if you call that living). Then I listened to all of the Wish You Were Here album this morning. Then I listened to it again. Damn, it's awesome! Then, I watched their live performance called Pulse from 1994, and it was great! I love Pink Floyd! My life is now complete!

I went to see You, Me and Dupree today! It was delightful. I love Owen Wilson and Kate Hudson. Matt Dillon is kinda growing on me, too. He did a fine job of hosting SNL, and he was amazing in Crash. Yep. Aw and Hader was in the movie! Only for like, 2 minutes, at the most, but it was still exciting. I < 3 him.

i'm selling my nintendo DS to get a DS lite. so does anyone want to buy mine? it's a plantium nintendo ds, comes with orginial box and charger, lanyard, and 2 stylii. it's practically brand new; no scratches or anything (i just bought it in march or so). i'll even throw in a pink airform case that holds your ds + 6 games. (i'll post a better picture of the case later.) the only thing is that the ds came packaged with animal crossing, but i want to keep the game. you get everything else though! so i'll let it go for $100 OBO. i'll even drop it if you live in the downtown/osborne/corydon area.reply on here.

So the Damien Rice/Fiona Apple concert was pretty fucking sweet. Damien Rice is, surprisingly, a really intense and awesome performer. Good music, fantastic company, it was certainly a good time. As we were walking out of the auditorium, we heard someone say "Man, that felt like Woodstock or something. I thought I was on drugs." And Basanti and I laughed and laughed... Hoo boy. And last night I ended up going to a fairly ridiculous party. And stayed for too long. But! My work for the weekend will (hopefully) be done soon, so I can relax and read and not worry about middle schoolers for a few hours...

After perusing some forums... I did not know that David Nathan VS Marcus Off is such a huge war. Well, I did not know it, but I certainly understand it. David Nathan may sound like Johnny Depp, but he does not sound like Jack Sparrow. He is also the bane of my existence, meaning I. Just. Don't like his voice. By a cruel twist of fate, he is Christian Bale's regular voice actor. I did not know that Davenport/Norrington had the same voice actor as Hugh Jackman.

And you gotta love how photography editor Michele Mcnally describes the photo: incredible courage. Yeah, courage. Jeff Goldstein remarks that real courage "would have entailed, say, [photorgapher] Joao Silva getting word to US troops, or bumrushing the sniper and beating him unconscious with a heavy telephoto lens." I say real courage would be for these assholes Silva and Mcnally to personally show our solders this photo and ask them what they thought of the picture they took of the guy trying to kill them.

In an effort to keep awake, I went movie hunting. I took a punt on Leonard Cohen: I'm your man and it was a great choice. The movie is a chronological journey through the life of a man I consider a lyrical genius. This is mixed with live concert songs from Came so Far for Beauty; artists like Nick Cave, Beth Orton and Rufus Wainwright singing Leonard Cohen's songs. There is also lots of interviews with Leonard, plus comment from Bono and the Edge which adds depth to the songs.
