I really want to see Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. The trailer just pretty much shows me and everyone else that comes from the Deep South. It looks hilarious. In a few minutes I'm going to go see Superman 3-D with Ashley and Kellie. It is going to be awesome. Thye make me act crazy, in a good way, yuppp. I'm really happy cause I get to see them, I always like seeing their faces.

One of my favorite bands, and hopefully one of your favorite bands too, Devotchka, did the music for the new Steve Carell film Little Miss Sunshine, which I want to see badly. Over on somebody posted a music video for "Till the End of Time" by Devotchka from the film. I can't tell, but it seems like the audio and the video aren't in sync, but whatever.

Saw Clerks II the other night, probably the biggest piece of crap i've seen in a long time, and I like Kevin Smith. However, Little Miss Sunshine is awesome. I haven't left the theater feeling that satisfied since at least the night before when I saw Clerks II. The title of this update is almost the phrase used 50 times in the first 10 minutes of clerks II... if anything else, its just annoyingly vulgar, this coming from a person who uses the fuck word at least 900 times a day.

You know, I'm going to go with Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. The friendship of the demon and the angel is just great, and I do have a real soft spot for the book. I'd probably goes as far as to say it's my favourite thing that either of them have done.

If you have't seen this yet... well, why not? The real inconvenient truth of the moment is that not enough people have seen this. It's an excellent film, far more entertaining than I expected it to be, and rather than leaving me feeling all doom-and-gloom, it actually left me feeling a bit uplifted, motivated, and optimistic about the possibilities. I just wish this movie weren't mostly preaching to the choir. There are so many people that should see this. And I also can't help but note how "presidential" Al Gore looks... I spent half the time thinking how good his profile would look on a quarter :-) Oh, the would-have-been, should-have-beens...

So I was watching the Giant Squid Caught On Tape on The Discovery Channel. Total SCORE! This rocks. First time ever that a GIANT SQUID was caught on film! So COOL! BITCH SAY WHAT? I OWN YOU! YOU MAY HAVE WON THE BATTLE .... This is just awesome. Now they need to get footage of a GIANT SQUID and Sperm Whale (hehe... "sperm") in glorious battle. I'm such a dork but at least I'm not alone... The GIANT SQUID is about 8 meters in length, how cool is that? Something never before seen alive! With all our advances it took us this long to prove it. I'll geek our more, later.

Went for lunch (giant baked potato goodness!) with Ru, and clothes shopping later. Bought a black dress from 7 Angels that cost $39.95 ^ ^ Will wear it at next week's social if it's not too cold. We also watched Monty Python & The Holy Grail and bits of Tenimyu (I tell you most of my non-tenipuri friends wanted to watch it because they were like "who's that" at my Shirota msn icons XDD) Tonight's Reading: The Italian by Ann Radcliffe (hm, wonder if I can finish it by class tmr)... I still wan na go to Redezvous and get the latest Celeste Bradley installment!

Close to sun, Mercury has very long days - and is rarely visible to the rest of the solar system. You are perfect to rule Mercury, because you live for the present - and can truly enjoy a day that goes on forever. Like Mercury, you are quick and elusive. Your wit is outstanding, and you can win any verbal sparring match. Some people see you as superficial, but in truth, you just play many roles and have many interests. A great manipulator, you usually get what you want from people. And they 're happy to give it to you.

Bostonist (73 degrees) takes us to the best summer vacation spot ever, our misspent youth. MTV's 25th birthday inspired them to bring us long-forgotten gems from local groups NKOTB, New Edition (oh, poor Bobby Brown!) and Aerosmith.

Spent Yesterday in Stockholm, Sweden what a beautiful place it is. Weather wise we have been lucky it was almost too warm 85 degrees or so and clear skies. We spent the day walking around and taking a 2 hour boat tour around 14 of the islands that make up Stockholm. I ate Swedish Meatballs in Sweden and not in the sovereign state of Ikea. Didn ’ t even see an Ikea while we where there, I did sea Bauhaus though, I think it ’ s a Home Depot and not just a goth band. We also ended up in Stockholm on the day of the Gay Pride parade, it was fabulous and I think I saw Big Gay Al

"This is how it is with insomnia. Everything is so far away, a copy of a copy of a copy. The insomnia distance of everything, you can't touch anything and nothing can touch you." - Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club. I don't feel like a person even. an hour and a hlaf of sleep, in three little half hour episodes over the last 7 hours and I just had to give up. And all the time my dog, a little black waterbottle at my feet twitching and growling and taunting me with his little doggie dreams.

Cedric Diggory: He thinks you 're a good person who cares about everyone. You were the one who introduced him to Cho. He's glad you did and left this world with you as one of him close friends. Cho Chang: She is your actual bestfriend and thanks you for getting her and Cedric together. You are always there for her when she's crying about missing Cedric, and she appreciates it. You two are like sisters and she's grateful that you 're her friend.

Three days before World Trade Center opens and here's L.A. Daily News critic Glenn Whipp raising the United 93 Oscar flag. Go, Glenn! Oliver Stone's film is a thoroughly decent 7.8 on the HE scale, but Paul Greengrass's film is far superior and deserves all the salute pieces it can get.

Two month ago I bought a used Nintendo DS for the kids. And guess what, last month I bought a DS Lite for myself. After playing Mariokart DS and the new Supermario bros I was hooked. But I also spend a lot of time with Brain Age and Big Brain Academy. And I have realized that I really suck at math. But the build in statistics shows improvement. The best score you can get is a brain like a 20 year old, and the first time I tried I was 80. At least now I ’ m down to 26.

reckons that the Ask a Ninja review was on target. I would actually have to agree. Keira Knightley's character was thoroughly annoying, particularly with all the carrying on she did on the atoll. Orlando Bloom really doesn't have any acting ability either. Johnny Depp and Jonathon Pryce seemed to be the only actors involved that could act.

I just made a big batch of mint chocolate chip cookie dough in my new food processor. Now, instead of baking the cookies, I'm eating huge forkfuls of the raw dough. It's minty, chocolatey goodness ..... there's nothing better than raw cookie dough. I like my new food processor too. I had to fight off some old ladies at Tuesday Morning to get it. They can get quite stroppy with their walkers and canes, but I'm taller, faster and 40 years younger. I got my Cuisinart and left the oldies wobbling on their walkers ...... Now, back to the cookie dough ....

Locus has details of the shortlists for the World Fantasy Awards. It ’ s good to see Graham Joyce ’ s excellent The Limits of Enchantment on the list - and also interesting to note the dominance of what might be considered ‘ mainstream ’ novels, such as Bret Easton Ellis ’ s Lunar Park and Haruki Murakami ’ s Kafka on the Shore. It perhaps goes back to an argument that Charlie Stross made in the piece I linked to the other day:

- When I read the description I figured it was a ripoff of the other magician movie that hits this year. This has Edward Norton as a magician (moreso than an illusionist, if the trailer is any indication), who snares a lady with his wonderful acts and begins an adulterous relationship with her. Paul Giamatti is the detective that has to try to figure out how to catch him. Looks kinda dark. I'll like it.

After watching the film, I got to concentrate on the music more - I still have to listen to'Holloween'and onwards. But so far, I think the thing that stuck out the most was the mixing; I disagree with a lot of the mixing they did on some of the tracks. Rent? Much too many crashing drums. It got to the point where it was muffling the vocals, and even though I know the piece is a driving one, I had to strain at times to hear Adam Pascal & Anthony Rapp. Something about it was pretty flat as well - not musically, but that recording of the song felt extremely two-dimensional. Happens with a couple of other tracks as well, and the same volume problem with'Out Tonight', where Rosario Dawson gets drowned out periodically towards the end.

Heee Kathy Griffin is on Larry King Live... Oh man I love her, she is sooooo friggin funny! I love her comedy specials they show on Bravo .... It would be so cool to see her act in person! Oh and tuesday I might go (if the weather permits) to Cedar Point with my friend! Yay! I haven't been there is like... 2 years maybe? Its been a while which is odd because I usually managed to make it once a year .... so many new rides I haven't been on! Hopefully Top Thrill Dragster will be working when I'm there... all I know is the last time I was there the ride was new and it was ALWAYS broke down when I was there... boo! But I just wan na ride Millenium Force again.. weeeeeeee!
