It is now presumed that Richard Armitage, former Deputy Secretary of State (2001-2005) is the Valerie Plame "leaker." Armitage comes from the Colin Powell era and did the Whitehouse no favors if he, in fact, did leak Plame's name to columnist Robert Novak.

What is it about old men and Scarlett Johanssen? Or is that obvious. She's Woody Allen's most recent muse, starring in his last two movies, and now she's the subject of the faux'50s home-movie footage in the video that supports Bob Dylan's first single, "When the Deal Goes Down," off his wryly named Modern Times album. Watch it here.

When I was younger I always made it a point to finish any book I started, but as I grew-up I realized life is too darn short to be wasting time on substandard reads. As a result, The World According to Garp (by John Irving) is off the list as I started it and just could not get into it. Angles and Demons (by Dan Brown) is also off the list as I'm on of those people who really didn't like The Da Vinci Code, for writing style versus religious reasons. Note: The Da Vinci Code came in # 1, so one might question why I'm reading this list;) Finally, I'm not going to try and read the bible, and will just hope the good parts will be read to me at some point.

The most bizarre element of the two weeks of captivity suffered by Fox News reporter Steve Centanni and photographer Olaf Wiig at the hands of Gaza ’ s Holy Jihad Brigade was the video that surfaced depicting their conversion to Islam. Even before the journalists revealed that their conversions had been coerced, there were disturbing indications that they were not acting freely. While reading a statement he himself had ostensibly written, Centanni stumbled over words, appeared to puzzle over the handwriting, and seemed to grimace after pronouncing the words “ peace be upon him ” after the name of the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

I can't claim to have conducted a scientific analysis of the issue, but it seems to me that, "Mr. Bush" has become a rather common title for our current President from some media sources (this linked -- and very biased -- Washington Times article is actually by Ian James of Associated Press. As an aside, I should note that characters like Hugo Chavez -- a subject in the linked article -- are often described as, "left-leaning," though that's not the case in this particular article. While some Republicans are often referred to as "extreme" or "far right" wing, the major news agencies haven't yet figured out that Chavez is a full-blown communist like his idol, Fidel Castro. Maybe he's just, communist "leaning").

The only counterargument is his promise to caucus with the Democratic Party should he win reelection under the Connecticut for Lieberman Party banner. Chuck Schumer appears to give credence to that promise, but there are serious reasons to question his judgment in this matter: 1) the Hartford Courant article mentions the dangling threat that the Lieberman campaign is holding against the DC Democrats to caucus with the Republicans if he is not treated well during the campaign; 2) Tony Blankley, editor of the
