Test-drove Wii Sports today! It's incredibly fun, and I can not wait to see how the motion-sensor stuff pans out in other games, especially Twilight Princess. I don't think I've been this excited since my brother and I bought an N64 (with a clear purple controller, zomg!) I suppose this means I'll spend another month of my life with sword in hand collecting rupees and humming ocarina tunes. Oh well.

Oy. As the debate about Michael Richards, aka Cosmo Kramer from Seinfeld, and his racist rant at comedy club hecklers continues, it now turns out that he may have had a run-in with comedy club patrons - and went off in an anti-semitic rant at that time! Tmz.com spoke to a couple who says Richards went berserk while, yes, being heckled at LA's The Improv. Carol Oschin said, "Michael Richards said,'You 're a f --- ing Jew.'Your people are the cause of Jesus dying."

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor - and Whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me "to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness."

I ’ m not even a woman and I ’ m offended by CNET ’ s Top Ten Girl Geeks article, which includes such notable technologists at Paris Hilton, Daryl Hannah and Lisa Simpson (yes, the cartoon character). Someone actually wrote this post, and then at least one other person edited...

I've always been a mild fan of the James Bond films. I think this comes from the state of the series when I got old enough to see them in the cinema; Sean Connery had given way to Roger Moore by then, and the series had grown cartoonish and self-effacing. Only later did I watch Connery master the role, and then see Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan tackle it in a serious manner, and I discovered the fun of Bond. Nevertheless, the fatal flaw of all the films came from their formulaic focus on sexy women and technogadgets rather than a believable plot or characters made out of more than cardboard.

Word from a reliable source indicates that Sam Raimi has been approached to direct THE HOBBIT. Since Peter Jackson's (Middle -) earth shattering news that he is off the project, it seems the Spider-man director may step into his place. Raimi was born on October 23rd, 1959 in Royal Oak, Michigan. His first big hit was'The Evil Dead'but he really gained cult status with'Evil Dead II'. It is his amazing work on the Spider-man series that has propelled Raimi to the mainstream. His latest film'Spider-man 3'is due out this May. Hm.

I really need to stay over at's more often. Last time I stayed over, I dreamt I was Angelina Jolie and married to Brad Pitt. Last night, I finally managed to hook up with my high school crush. It was about the closest thing to a full blown sex dream as I get. And it was good. Though too many times I wound up watching myself with my crush instead of being me. My brain is strange, what can I say. :)

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A lesbian couple married in Massachusetts has filed for divorce in Rhode Island, setting up a legal conundrum for judges in a state where the laws are silent on the legality of same-sex marriage. Margaret Chambers and Cassandra Ormiston of Providence were married after the Massachusetts Supreme Court legalized gay marriage in 2003, making it the only U.S. state allowing same-sex couples to wed. Yesterday i went to court for my speeding ticket last month. I had a lawyer and a (false) witness (liam), and it still didn't work. The judge seemed pretty unaccepting of the idea that the city could ever possibly fuck anything up, given the way she dealt with the other cases i saw and the way she refused any of my attorny's numerous motions to suppress the officer's statement. $177 down the drain. Oh well. At work alex georgiadis showed up at one of my tables. He was there with his girlfriend. We chatted a little bit and exchanged numbers. We might go hit some bars this weekend. I have no plans for today.

No, really. Happy Save-a-turkey Day, you lot. Mum always used to fix a ham on Thanksgiving and a turkey on Christmas. We do everything a bit backwards in my family.;) Dunno what we 're doing this year, but I'm sure it'll be unusual... Which is normal for us. Traditional Thanksgiving? Pah! * goes off to listen to the Thanksgiving Song, courtesy of Adam Sandler *

The thing Warren Ellis hates most about our stupid Yanqui holiday: Is that everyone sends around that goddamn William Burroughs Thanksgiving prayer that everyone else has all seen a million fucking times. Why can ’ t you people just pass smallpox-infected blankets among yourselves for Thanksgiving, as your ancestors intended? I (beth, not warren ellis) hope everyone who readds this chokes on their turkey.

What liberal media? Certainly not the mainstream networks, because they 're so worried about being called "liberal" that they over-compensate by being conservative. I'm talking about Keith Olbermann, Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart... these are the guys I'm thankful for this year. Their poignant commentary and smart questioning of all guests on their show (Michael Musto aside) are a breath of fresh air. While the mainstream television media outlets hang on every word the president says, Olbermann puts things in perspective. And Stewart does what every damn media outlet should be able to do -- he shows past soundbites from the Bush Administration that directly contradict things they 're saying now. A comedian shouldn't be considered part of the media, but that is what he has become.

“ Six imams removed from a US Airways flight from Minneapolis to Phoenix are calling on Muslims to boycott the airline. If only we could get Muslims to boycott all airlines, we could dispense with airport security altogether. […] The idea that a Muslim boycott against US Airways would hurt the airline proves that Arabs are utterly tone-deaf. This is roughly the equivalent of Cindy Sheehan taking a vow of silence. How can we hope to deal with people with no sense of irony? The next thing you know, New York City cab drivers will be threatening to bathe. ” Ann Coulter, “ What Can I Do to Make Your Flight More Uncomfortable? ”

Saw this tonight. I'm not a Will Ferrell fan, but I adore Emma Thompson to the finest fiber of my being. So I went, and not only basked in Thompson's presence, but enjoyed watching Dustin Hoffman, Queen Latifah and (yes) Ferrell work. Ferrell was quiet and understated and affecting. I cried at the end (okay, I'm a cheap date, but they were honest tears). And I'll tell you, I'll think twice before I kill another character off.
